Summary of netball achievements in 2010

 

 

1. 12 teams were entered into the league.

 

2. 9 teams competed in the semi-final and final league play-offs.

 

3. 6 teams achieved gold medals and won their respective WP leagues, namely U19A, U16A and D, U14 B, C and D.

 

4. 2 teams achieved silver medals as runners up in the league, namely U19B and U19 D.

 

5. U16 A won the Super 14 tournament in Bloemfontein and the U19A team were placed second.

 

6. U16A represented the Western Cape in the SA Challenge tournament in Boksburg.  27 teams competed and the Stellies team were knocked out in the quarter final by Waterkloof U16A.  A fantastic result indeed as 8 out of the 9 players were u15.

 

7. Only one team lost at the Durbanville High School Derby Day.

 

8. 11 players represented WP and 3 players were included in the Western Cape Teams.

 

9. The U16A teams were honoured as the Stellies “Sports Team” of the year and the U19A team received a “Special Award” from the Principal for their excellent achievements.

The Stellies were proud to host the Protea Netball Team's first Cape Town
session today.
Congrats must go to Claudia Basson an ex-Stellie who is part of the 14 man
squad.
